Dr Pesce was an Intern, RMO and Registrar at Westmead Hospital. After attaining his fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists he was the Chris Hudson Fellow 1991-92 training in laparoscopic surgery at Whipps Cross and St Bartholomew Hospitals London.
Dr Pesce return as a Staff Specialist Westmead Hospital 1993-2003 and then as a VMO Westmead Hospital from 2003. He is the Clinical Director of Women's Health at Westmead and Chairman of the Westmead Medical Staff Council 2007-2009. He was a member of the Medical Advisory Committee Westmead Private Hospital from 2000-2005.
At a national level he is a former President of the Australian Medical Association.
His practice is based on a philosophy of woman-centred care in obstetrics and gynaecology, including support for vaginal birth after previous caesarean delivery and vaginal birth for twin and breech pregnancy.
