
Academic Appointments
Dr Warwick Benson graduated from Sydney University and completed his FRACP in 1975 and FRCPA in 1976.
He was employed as a Resident and Registrar at Sydney Hospital from 1968-1975 and was subsequently Professorial Registrar at St George Hospital from 1975-1976. In 1976 he joined Concord Hospital as a Consulting Haematologist, before undertaking a Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Christie Hospital, Manchester UK between 1977-1980. On returning to Australia in 1980 he took up a position as a Consultant Physician and Clinical Haematologist at a number of Sydney teaching hospitals and has worked at Westmead Hospital since 1988.
Dr Benson has also held a number of additional roles, being a member of the Board of Censors of the RACP from 1981-1986, a Councilor and treasurer of the RACP and is a previous Chair of the Drug Committee of Westmead hospital from 1992-1998. His areas of particular interest are Malignant lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.
