Dr Chuong graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 2004. He then completed his speciality training in respiratory and sleep medicine at Westmead hospital, being awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with subspecialty qualifications in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine.
He is currently undertaking a Masters of Philosophy research degree at the University of Sydney on the topic of perioperative obstructive sleep apnoea.
Dr Chuong is a staff specialist in Blacktown hospital, with an instrumental role in the setting up of an acute respiratory unit for management of patients with respiratory failure. His other clinical interests include lung cancer, obstructive lung disease and pleural disease.
He is also a lecturer at the Western Sydney University, and is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
