Academic Appointments
Professor Peter Zelas received his specialist training in Australia, United Kingdom and the United States.He has a long association, over 30 years with Blacktown Hospital as a surgeon , initially starting with his surgical training. He specialises in the field of Colorectal Surgery.
Professor Zelas was awarded the OAM in 2006 for services to Medicine in Western Sydney.He has also worked with Me'decins Sans Frontieres in Africa, Indonesia and Nepal.
Professor Zelas is the Deputy Chair of the Medical Staff Council, the chair of the Sydney West Health Advisory Council and the Clinical Dean at the University of Western Sydney School of Medicine.
