Academic Appointments
Dr Pathma-Nathan is a Colorectal and General Surgeon with subspecialty training in advanced laparoscopic techniques. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in General Surgery in 2000 and Fellowship of the Colorectal Surgical Society in 2002. He trained at Westmead, Concord and Royal Prince Alfred hospitals in Sydney, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, Tralee General Hospital in Ireland and the Manchester Royal Infirmary in the UK.He is the Supervisor of Advanced Surgical Training for Western Sydney, the Clinical Lead for the Western Sydney Colorectal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team and a member of the Audit Committee for Westmead Hospital. He is actively involved in teaching for undergraduate, post-graduate and post-fellowship students.
He has operating and colonoscopy lists at Westmead Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, Mt Druitt Hospital and the Castle Hill Day Surgery.
