Academic Appointments

Clinical A/Professor Owen Ung is a breast and endocrine surgeon. He is a breast and endocine surgeon at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Wesley Hospital and St Andrews Hospital Brisbane. National representations include: Executive member and past Chair of the Breast Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, board member of General Surgeons Australia (GSA) and Chairman of the Breast Group of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA). He teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is a Clinical Associate Professor in Surgery (University of Queensland). Within his College he plays an active role in surgical training. He is active on numerous State and National Committees within his area of expertise and lectures and publishes widely. He has obtained extensive administrative and management experience through his various clinical leadership roles.



His research interests include sentinel node biopsy and the axilla ; lymphoedema, patterns and predictors of axillary nodal metastases,
